Your First Visit
At Dental Sleep & TMJ Therapy, your first visit is all about understanding your needs and thoroughly assessing your oral health. We’ll discuss your concerns,
perform a detailed examination to identify the cause of pain or headaches. and, if
necessary, take x-rays and photos or conduct other tests. if you present to us with a
sleep issue or snoring we will thoroughly assses your mouth and advise you on the
success rate for the oral appliance . This lets us create a personalised treatment plan that meets your needs.
Ample time has been set aside to answer any/all of your questions so you can confidently choose the right treatment path for you. For a complex dental situation, a second appointment may be required in support of our team establishing the best treatment options for your personal situation.
Fees
We’ll explain the available treatment options in simple terms and provide a clear estimate of costs.
Before starting any treatment, we’ll provide you with a detailed estimate of the costs involved and discuss your payment options. Since each treatment plan is unique, fees can vary, but we’ll make sure you have all the information upfront.
Appointment Arrival and Rescheduling
To ensure everything goes as planned, we kindly ask you to arrive 15 minutes early. Patients under 16 must have a parent or guardian with them during their consultation and any follow-up visits.
If you need to reschedule, please notify us at least 72 hours in advance. We’ll work with you to find a new time. A cancellation fee may apply if you don’t provide at least 24 hours’ notice when changing or cancelling your appointment.
What You’ll Need to Bring
For a smooth and efficient first visit, please bring the following items with you:
- Referral Letter (if applicable)
- Completed New Patient Form—A medical history form and some assessment
forms pertinent to your case will be sent to you via email, please ensure that
they are filled atleast 2 days before the appointment - Private Health Insurance Card (if applicable)

Payment
The payment of your account is due and payable on the day of your treatment. In some cases, a deposit may be required prior to the commencement of your treatment.
For your convenience, we offer a range of payment options including:

- Credit Cards (Mastercard or Visa)
- Cheques
- Internet Transfer/Direct Deposit
- Interest-Free Payment Plans via DentiCare
Patients with private health insurance may be entitled to rebates on the cost of their treatment, depending on the type of policy and the level of cover held. We can assist you in accessing your health fund rebate or third-party entitlements using online claiming at the time of your payment in order to reduce up-front costs.
To further assist patients with payment, Dental Sleep Therapy offers interest-free payment plan via DentiCare.

They allow you to spread out the cost of your dental treatment and pay for it overtime in regular and affordable instalments. Referrals
You can easily refer patients to us, as we accept referrals from all licensed medical professionals. While sleep study results are not mandatory, they are helpful if provided.
We aim to make the referral process as smooth as possible for both you and your patients. If you have any specific concerns or additional information that could aid in the diagnosis and treatment, please include those details with your referral.
