Kavitha Vegunta

Dr Kavitha Vegunta is the Principal Dentist at Precision dental care @ Kingston. A committed professional with more than 15 years of clinical experience, her clinical interests outside of regular dentistry lie in Orofacial pain and Sleep medicine.

In her regular practice, she has had the opportunity to frequently witness, the ill effects of these poorly characterized disorders that always proved difficult to diagnose and even more difficult to treat. The extent of this underexplored morbidity has long intrigued her, and she was often mortified by the crippling dysfunction inflicted by this unseen disability in her patients.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, she had relentlessly pursued further knowledge and training in this evolving and nascent field over the past few years. She was invited last year, to coauthor a chapter on Orofacial pain in “Pathological basis of Oral and Maxillofacial diseases”, by Elsevier, which will be published in September of this year.

The specific areas of her training include :

Mandibular advancement splints

TMD related Headaches

Myofunctional therapy for sleep breathing disorders and Orofacial pain

Botox and dry needling intervention
